Three days in Toulouse devoted entirely to Cuban son, rather than son as one room among many.
Soneate is the rare thing on this list: a festival built around a single dance rather than programming son as a side room. Its third edition runs over three days at the Mas Tolosa, just west of Toulouse.
That focus is the reason to go. Son is taught almost everywhere as an hour or two inside a broader Cuban programme, and it is the form most European dancers know least well, despite nearly everything else in Cuban dance descending from it. A weekend of nothing else is a genuinely different proposition, and there are few places to get it.
