Timba festivals

Also known as Timba Cubana

Timba is the Cuban dance music that emerged in the late 1980s and 90s, harder and more aggressive than son-based salsa, with funk and jazz harmony and a rhythm section that stops and restarts. Los Van Van, NG La Banda and Charanga Habanera defined it. Danced, it means answering those breaks: despelote, body movement, and a great deal of Afro-Cuban vocabulary layered over casino.

21 upcoming festivals across 10 countries.
